Pyramids Tour

I signed up for an all day tour of Cairo museum, Giza and Memphis. My tour guide Gabriel was knowledgeable. You really do need a guide to help with the understanding of everything you see on the tour. 
The first stop was the city of Memphis with the huge statue of Ramsey II. Here he was found on his back in mud and water, 38 feet long and 83 tons. I thought of the Shelley poem for dust we are and dust we shall return!


I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: “Two vast and trunk-less legs of stone
Stand in the desert . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
